I
just arrived back to the U.S. from traveling to Asia on a
combined franchising trade mission as a Department of
Commerce and IFA event in Singapore, Thailand and Hong
Kong. While in Asia, I was able to visit Lilian Lim in
FranNet Malaysia who had thirteen appointments for me. I
accompanied Lilian to a popular television news station who
called her at the last moment requesting she come for a live
interview. Although I did not understand anything except "FranNet"
she conducted herself very professionally and was a great
representative of FranNet.
I spent several
days in Shanghai, China, where Helen, FranNet Shanghai had
eleven appointments scheduled. While visiting Helen, she
made me feel a part of the family. We went to dinner with
her husband and son and they showed me Shanghai and even
found enough time to take me on a shopping trip. This truly
helped me understand the culture. Soo Kong Lim has worked
well with us during this process and has proved to be
extremely professional and dedicated.
I would highly recommend to any franchisor that has
committed to the international marketplace, to visit FranNet
wherever they have committed expansion. We believe it is
two fold. First, to educate us as a franchisor, regarding
the cultural changes needed and secondly, meeting with the
candidates that have been prequalified by FranNet to
expedite the process for both parties.
